CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) — The Miami Hurricanes have a season-ticket sellout in men's basketball for the first time. Single-game tickets remain available, but the school has sold all 5,600 season tickets for games at their 7,972-capacity arena. The Hurricanes cracked the Top 25 this week and are ranked No. 15.
ESTERO, Fla. (AP) — J.J. Panoske scored 18 on 6-of-9 shooting and Jordan Johnson added 17 points — including three free throws in the final 26 seconds — with nine assists to help Milwaukee held off Central Michigan 84-78 Wednesday in the Gulf Coast Showcase. Akeem Springs and Matt Tiby scored 13 apiece and Cody Wichmann added 10 points for Milwaukee (5-3).
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — An undefeated youth football team from Philadelphia is heading to Walt Disney World, thanks to a donor who learned of the team's disappointment when a rule change killed its chance to play in the Magic Kingdom. The 9-year-olds on the West Philadelphia Tarheels Pop Warner team had an 11-0 record that included nine shutouts but still didn't qualify for an all-expenses paid trip to Disney because of the rules change.
DAVIE, Fla. (AP) — Outside linebacker Quinton Coples has been claimed by the Miami Dolphins one day after he was waived by the New York Jets. The Dolphins, who play the Jets on Sunday, have been hit hard by injuries at linebacker and decided to reinforce the position.
