The Braves had too many errors in the seventh inning of Wednesday night's 9-6 loss to the Rays. It was the Braves' third straight loss and 14th in 20 games.
SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (AP) — Tiger Woods just missed a birdie try and remains at 1 over par through 10 holes in Thursday's opening round of the PGA Championship at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin. That's six behind leaders Hideki Matsuyama, Thomas Bjorn and, yes, Dustin Johnson. And while yes, Woods is out on the course, it's been nothing spectacular so far.
OCALA, Fla. (AP) — The Steinbrenner family of Yankees fame has sold three Ocala hotels to a Canadian-based company for more than $30.7 million. Hal Steinbrenner, youngest son of former New York Yankees owner George Steinbrenner, has managed the hotel operations company for yearrs.
CHICAGO (AP) — Major League Baseball has hired a search firm to help prepare candidates for openings in baseball operations throughout the league, with special emphasis for minority and female candidates. There has never been a female GM in baseball, and there are few women and minorities on that side of the organizational structure in the sport.
