(AP) — Miami Marlins pitcher Jarred Cosart says Major League Baseball is reviewing his deleted Twitter account as part of an investigation into gambling-related tweets posted there and he is cooperating with the investigation. The 24-year-old Cosart deleted his Twitter account Tuesday after screen shots of comments he purportedly made appeared on the website of Miami New Times.

DUNEDIN, Fla. (AP) — Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Cody Asche has been scratched from the starting lineup against Toronto because of back tightness. Asche, who is batting .238 with three homers and seven RBIs in 16 games this spring training, said he felt his back stiffen while he stretched during morning workouts Thursday. He opted to sit as a precaution.

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (AP) — Tiger Woods has donated $10,000 to launch a scholarship fund honoring Charlie Sifford, who broke the color barrier in golf as the first black PGA Tour member.The University of Maryland-Eastern Shore announced the gift from Woods on Thursday. The money will go toward need-based scholarships for minority students with an interest in golf.
